Gabe, from Albany, New York, will be a Sophomore in Highschool this fall at Christian Brothers Academy. Through his summer camp and adaptive winter ski program at Double H Ranch and the services he receives at the Center for Disability Services Gabe became friends with Lilly. Lilly resides at St. Margaret’s, a skilled nursing facility in Albany, that serves ventilator dependent children. Lilly needs assisted technology to succeed in school and it is unaffordable to her and many kids residing at St. Margaret’s. Gabe came up with a way to help. Inspired by Lilly’s love of flowers, in chalk pastel, he created Adirondack Lilly. All proceeds from prints and T-shirts with the art will benefit the St. Margaret’s Center Assisted Technology Fund to help Lilly and other residents with the technology they need to be successful in school.
The t-shirts will be produced and shipped by Spectrum Designs. Spectrum Designs employs young adults with autism. Purchasing a t-shirt not only helps Lilly, it also puts traditionally underemployed individuals to work.
